'Thermovision' is inspired by the photographs of the earth captured by NASA’s Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS). Together with the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit (AMSU), NASA can receive a three-dimensional look at Earth’s weather and climate. Measuring the planet’s atmospheric temperature, water vapour, clouds and greenhouse gases with unprecedented accuracy and stability. Thanks to these studies, we can confirm the effects of global warming and how temperatures have peaked in the recent years.
We were inspired by these infrared visuals and message of global warming and transformed it to the body painting on models. The abstract ‘thermal vision’ body painting then creates a link between a human and Earth and implicates how important this connection is.
